Leaving the theater after Watchmen I was somewhat satisfied with the film mostly because I knew they could have done allot worse. What lacked in Watchmen was that there was too much left out, all the back-stories and what not. (probably due to typical studio politics) It has recently been brought to my attention that on 3-24-09 they will be releasing Tales of the Black Freighter and Under the Hood on DVD. Tales of the Black Freighter is a comic that was inside of Watchmen which went along with the narrative of Watchmen quite well, while Under the Hood is Hollis Mason’s tell-all autobiography about his life as the original Nite Owl. Also after the actual Watchmen DVD is released some months from now, there will be a special edition released that will include all three films spliced together just like in the graphic novel itself.
