In 1995, LL Cool J released one of his biggest albums Mr. Smith. The LP’s double platinum success was due to the smash hits Loungin with/ Total, Doin It w/ LeShaun, Hey Lover w/ Boyz 2 Men plus most of the production being handled by Rashad Smith & The Trackmasters. The Mr. Smith album wasn’t all bubble gum however, LL assembled Representatives from some of NY’s finest crews [Fat Joe (Terror Squad), Keith Murray(Def Squad/L.O.D.), Prodigy(Mobb Deep) & Foxy Brown(The Firm)] for the remix to his controversial record I Shot Ya. Directed by Hype Williams, rumors swirling of Keith Murray tossing Prodigy around at the video shoot & loads of cameos this is a classic Hip-Hop video from a better era.
